Oxford Botanic Garden
Oxford
The Oxford Botanical Garden is the oldest botanic garden in England. Set within high stone walls beside the Isis, the grid of order beds survives.
The project was to revive and restore the original garden, with a new plan concentrating on the southern area beyond the walls. The design is oriented on the axial view to Merton tower and links to the river with a garden that cleans and recycles the water. The planting focuses on growing food and recycling organic waste within the confines of a city.
