thames landscape stratedgy masterplan

Hundred year plan for the river through London based on the historic, natural and cultural landscape. Adopted as the prototype for the Thames by the Government Office for London's Strategic Planning Guidance.

Achievements of the Strategy in its first ten years, include planning and policy decisions as well as projects on the ground. The following are some of these projects that KWA have been directly involved in:

Pastoral Arcadia, Richmond

Ten years after the launch of the Strategy KWA were commisioned to work on the design for the rural reaches of the London’s Arcadia Project looking at ways of enhancing public involvement in the complete riverside landscape.
Floodscape, Richmond
Development of a management plan for Ham Lands which would reverse the decline of the last decades and consider the reintroduction of historic, grazed flood meadows.
Ham Avenues, Richmond
Advice on the restoration of the miles of historic lime avenues surrounding Ham House, balancing nature conservation, historic landscape and public access concerns.
Old Deer Park, Richmond
A masterplan for the Grade 1 landscape linking Kew Gardens, Syon Park and Richmond.
Richmond Green, Richmond
Advice on the design and management of one of the finest green open spaces in London.
